Hello... that "some mandriva user" was me ... I tried the following scenario to avoid any confusions with initscripts or network managers etc.
Testing scenario: ----------------- 1.) interface configured and working (tested with ping) 2.) poweroff -f entered
Results: -------- 2.6.29.3-desktop-1mnb (Mandriva 2010.0 Cooker) ... can't wake up :( 2.6.29.2-1mdv [kernel-linus] (Mandriva 2009.1) ... can't wake up :( 2.6.29.1-desktop-4mnb (Mandriva 2009.1) ... cant't wake up :( 2.6.28.5-pmagic (Parted Magic) ... cant't wake up :( 2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb (Mandriva 2009.0) ... WOL works! :) 2.6.24.4-desktop586-1mnb (Mandriva 2008.1 Live) ... WOL works! :) 2.6.24-gentoo-r5 (Gentoo 2008 beta2 minimal CD) ... WOL works! :)
It looks like a new bug or principial change causing this unwanted behavior was introduced in 2.6.28.x
