I tested two rtl816x-based cards on the same computer and the behavior is different:

1.) Onboard PCIE card
-Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 01)
-WOL doesn't work since kernel 2.6.28
2.) PCI card
-Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8169 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 10)
-WOL works
