Small update - the driver has moved out of staging in the mainline (3.3-rc1) kernel

It is now under

Device Drivers ->
Graphics support ->
DRM (Direct Rendering Manager) ->
Intel GMA5/600 KMS Framebuffer

The name has changes in the .config file, it is now called

DRM_GMA500

grep DRM_GMA500 .config
CONFIG_DRM_GMA500=y

and it looks as if the kernel module is called gma500_gfx
