Can you test the latest 3.2 stable kernel:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.2.39-precise/

That will confirm if this fix is in the upstream stable kernel. If it is, then the fix will make it's way into Precise through the normal stable update process.
