Running Gutsy with all update up to today and it works for me. It even reconnects after a resume from S2R. I'm using WPA2 with AES.
Btw: I'm also testing OpenSUSE 10.3 beta2 and they are using the iwl driver. From comments there it seems the ipw driver is crap ad the iwl driver is highly experimental, so I foresee a lot of trouble yet to come.
