Same problem: KeyRing does not store the certificates that I use to authenticate to the AP. I am connecting to a Cisco AP, WPA2 EAP TLS with Certificate Authentication.
As a workaround I installed KNetworkManager and KWallet.... KNetworkManager saves the information for the certificates and the passkey to the Kwallet. When I login, Kwallet asks me for my password and after that, KNetworkManager connects without any problems to my network.

I really wish that they would fix nm-applet.
