(It is likely that this is the infamous "X started between VTs" bug in plymouth, but we should collect all the info we might need here.)
Also, point (vii) is unrelated to plymouth; if choosing 'shutdown' causes a restart instead, that's a bug in a completely separate package. Please file another bug report for this against the indicator-session package.
