Everything is in place in RB 2.97 for the use of 'custom settings' in RB except there is no
preset=rhythmbox-custom-settings
in /usr/share/rhythmbox/rhythmbox.gep

Seriously don't get it - like pulling a tigers tooth to get something simple done.
