I've tried both the cvs version (1.3.3cvs) and the dapper's official version 1.2.4.1.dfsg-1ubuntu4, both with the same results. I also asked other Scribus users, whether they encounter similar issues with their distros, which is not the case. I strongly suspect this could be related to the QT version of dapper (3.3.6), but unfortunately I don't know any other qt application which utilizes real number fields (apart from scribus) to check it.
