This is fixed in Natty. To address your concerns point-by-point:
- It no longer uses radio buttons to select which disk to use. This is handled on the second partitioning page (if you select the resize or entire disk options) using a combobox. The combobox is still shown when it contains only one item, but I'd prefer we fix that in GTK+.
- While disk selection in the aforementioned combobox still uses a similar string to the one you mention for each disk, there is now a much more detailed preview of the post-commit state of the disk just below.
