Trying to install Ubuntu 9.04 Alpah 4 on my laptop, I have to (try) install in safe mode (otherwise I get just console). And I get 800x600. The Partitioner and subsequent screens are too big, and essential buttons are not visible.

This blocks installation. Guessing the number of buttons and getting them wrong is a major hassle (and even triggers another bug where accidentally hitting "Quit the installation" just locks up the confirmation dialog, Cancel does not work.)
