Comment 13 for bug 445385

In my case, with the final karmic i386 CD, I just disabled the (wired) network interface, and installation was able to go beyond 80%.
After that I enabled it again but download of additional languages estimated to more than 3000 hours, so I had to skip this step (disabling the interface was less effective this time).
That way installation seemed to finish successfully.
