The installer aborted at the last moment with the message quoted in the
subject heading. No "installation" occurred (that is, there was no
Ubuntu application requiring removal once I'd recorded the log file and
cleared away the residue).
I used a Windows 7 partition for testing, if that's relevant. I could
try a Windows XP installation on one of my other computers if that would
be useful.
