I have no additional insight in fixing this bug, but at least it is possible to just hide it.
I repeat: The following does not fix anything, just hides the error message.
In Terminal enter:
sudo -s echo FRAMEBUFFER=y >>/etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/splash update-initramfs -u
