I tried to build the package, but it failed with:

dh_install: debian/tmp/usr/lib/vlc/access/libaccess_mtp_plugin.so exists in debian/tmp/ but is not installed to anywhere
dh_install: debian/tmp/usr/lib/vlc/codec/libfluidsynth_plugin.so exists in debian/tmp/ but is not installed to anywhere
dh_install: missing files, aborting
