Same problem with a Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx 64-bits fully upgraded.
It happens like each 1 of 2 boots. Mostly the first time I try to boot it crash and then it works after rebooting.

PD: Could it have something to do with this old and solved bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=323501 reported by Linus Torvalds for Fedora 8?
