By the way, I noticed usplash (and console) is limited to 1280x1024 (due to vesafb I think). Is there a chance to use 1680x1050? (or for that matter, many other resolutions, eg 1440x900, 1920x1200, 2560x1600 which are becoming standard in new not-so-expensive lcds).
