AlanTam: Okay, I think I've worked out why the commands aren't working for you. You need to start a movie playing (eg. in Totem). Then bring up eg. Gnome Terminal and paste those commands (*while the movie is already loaded*).

The values are getting "reset" to the horrible looking ones each time the Xv port is initialised.

Can you try that again please if you get a chance?
