Latest nvidia driver for 12.04
PPA description
- First ensure your running the nvidia-current-updates driver - you can check using 'additional drivers' link in your kde/unity/whatever menu
edit /etc/default/grub and ensure there is a line
GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=text
sudo update-grub2
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:morgancoxuk/latest-nvidia-12.04
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
reboot
- future releases will be avaible just by susing standard apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade
(more for home users) Nvidia now enabled Sync to VBlank by default (this will not allow the framerate to go beyond the refresh rate) - I would disable that (use nvidia-settings)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:morgancoxuk/latest-nvidia-12.04
sudo apt update
