  • Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-i810 Some OpenGL applications seem to cause the i810 driver to crash Xorg, and prevent Xorg from restarting successfully following the crash. In particular, SecondLife 1.13.1.6 causes Xorg as soon as login completes and OpenGL rendering would normally begin. I have observed this to occur while using mupen64 as well, but it was uncommon and ...
  • Bug Description. [Impact] * The keyboard on the graphical login screen started on VT1 may stop working and or keypresses including passwords are leaked to the terminal console running 'behind' the graphical login screen or environment. • Hi, We are experiencing some weird boot issues with Ubuntu 20.04 and Hyper-V 2012r2. In two cases the installation started successfully, as did the VM initial boot and then issues started to arise, where the boot process started to fail. grub start, the menu pop-up and then just after loading kernel and initrd (tried to put some echo(es) in the config the VM somehow reset and the menu pop-up ...

  • The hibernation seems to go well, it's just that it reboots instead of powering off. The resume goes well. There is something similar in bug #190095 (another Acer). dmesg clearly shows that "platform" is being used, and this is hardcoded in /usr/lib/ pm-utils/ functions: [ 387.636579] PM: suspend-to-disk mode set to 'platform'
  • Every so often, typically when I'm using Thunderbird, I attempt to use GDM to create a new window or something like that, and the "New Window" popup comes up, but does not work. Attempts to click on it have no effect. I cannot make the popup go away, other than by logging out and logging back in again (or rebooting). I did not observe this problem until I installed Ubuntu 21.04, so I expect it ...

  • OK, I am still trying to figure out what triggers this bug. Now it happened when I was working with gnome-terminal and evince. I was not able to get a X backtrace according to https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/X/Backtraci ng:. I have installed the debugging versions of xserver-xorg-core-dbg, libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg and xserver-xorg-video-nouveau-dbg and rebooted.I tried
  • SRU Justification [Impact] Microsoft has requested that CONFIG_RT_GROUP_SCHED be enabled. This option has no discernible runtime impact in the default case. As quoted from research performed by Colin King, "I ran some synthetic stress-ng throughput and latency tests with and without CONFIG_RT_GROUP_SCHED on CONFIG_RT_GROUP_SCHED. I don't see enough variation in the throughput or latency to ...
  • Yesterday I removed and reinstalled gdm3 and ubuntu-desktop, as suggested here, rebooted, but it was still the same (i.e. stuck in reboot), so I switched back to lightdm. Today when I turned it on it started normally using gdm (although I don't remember switching it to gdm again!).
  • I have to shut down the process manually before emergency shutdown (goes way beyond 80 degrees celcius) Once I force update-manager to shut down my temps go down again and the fan slows down too. Everything is back to normal. The odd thing is when using synaptic to update my packages everything is fine. I started having this problem a while ...
  • If one tries to switch back to the X screen, it's impossible to shutdown gracefully. Only option is the powerswitch. This is on a HP Compaq 6715b with Ubuntu 10.04. • The errors go away after a reboot until the problem occurs again after a few hours. In most cases, the server even reports a hardware fault and the storage fan spins up to 100 %. The problem did _not_ occur in Ubuntu 20.04, the last 20.04 kernel I ran on this server was 5.13.0. 39.44~20. 04.24.

  • For those who want to try my script: You should start it only just before requesting shutdown or restart. It produces a lot of output into the logfile (more time -> more output). > do you mean that it happens at logout? It happened on shutdown. It seems that makes a difference here (between logout and shutdown I mean; see comment #29). I did this:
  • Note that other folders are working fine. It means that I see mail that are filtered to go in other folders (Once, one of my folder had the same problem). The workaround so far : completely remove the IMAP account, remove the imap folder in .evolution and recreate the account again. It works for a few day and then, it's frozen again.
