However, if you just overwrite the entry, the latest Jabref (2.8.1) release has 'Find duplicate' feature so that you can: 1. Enter DOI and fetch new entry from ADS and save 2. Use 'Find duplicate' and remove old entry as a workaround. P.S. Current jabref-ads release (0.3) does not work well with current Jabref release (2.8.1).
Great to have such a plugin for JabRef, good work! A possible extension would be to also allow the authors name/year to search in the ADS, eg you would enter "Miller,1990" and get the references for that person/year!

JabRef is a graphical Java application for editing BibTeX (.bib) databases. JabRef lets you organize your entries into overlapping logical groups, and with a single click limit your view to a single group or an intersection or union of several groups.
It would be great if the ADS fetcher has a shortcut key as other "web search" tools in JabRef.
