Bug Description

After encoding a xvid file with mp3 audio, Devede gives me an mpeg file with distorted audio as result. Another user reported the same problem in this topic on ubuntuforums.org: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=369585&highlight=devede+feisty
In Edgy it worked perfectly.

Although I am confirming this bug, I believe that problem resides in mencoder or liblame as devede doesn't do any encoding itself.

Changed in devede:
status: Unconfirmed → Confirmed

Yes, probably. Is it wise for me to re-file this bug for mencoder?

I've exactly the same problem...anyway I presume it's a problem dependent by codecs, cause also listening music (mp3 or ogg) there is a distorted audio growing up the volume

I'm not having problems playing mp3 or ogg files myself.

Can confirm the audio distortion after converting (encoding) an .avi to mpeg and DVD iso.
However, I have no distortion playing music in any format or playing .avi or .wmv.

Further to my last post (Dutch): The audio distortion I concurred with was in the x86 Kubuntu 7.04.

Have just done a fresh install of an AMD64 Kubuntu 7.04 & encoded an .avi to a DVD with no audio distortion so the bug is in only the x86 of Feisty.
