Still there in evince 2.20.0, Gutsy Beta (AMD64) with all updates until 6th of October.
This is really annoying, as working with Latex means that you deal very much with .dvi files...

Well, in Hardy amd64 with evince 2.21.90-0ubuntu1 I get cute black frames around the place where the image should be, but nothing else.

I am on Intrepid 8.10 and still cannot see eps. All I get is

stecklum@extragalactix:~/Proposals/ca/09spr$ evince mcm_V1331Cyg.eps
rangecheck -15
rangecheck -15

** (evince:11071): WARNING **: Error rendering thumbnail
rangecheck -15

and a blank screen.

Same here. Using Intrepid and evince only displays a blank page. I don't get any warnings as stecklum did though.
