Freeze effect cancels out any layout changes

Bug Description
If you apply layout changes to a clip, such as zoom or positioning, then add the freeze effect to the clip. The layout is lost at the point the freeze takes effect.
Issue occurs with 1.4.2 as well as trunk (1.4.3-alpha1).

Not sure if it's something we're doing wrong with the effect or if it's a problem with the (MLT) effect itself.
