Bug Description

My Internet connection has at moment a Traffic Limitation. Because that I disconnected Ubuntu one and set the Download and Upload rate to zero. Also I had to set the updater to not update the list. This had worked for about 2.5 Weeks. After booting this PC now I worked and used the Internet as ever (Image blocking addon). after a while something irritated me. I realized the UbuntuOne Sync Dialog had show up some times and the Warning Symbol in the Indicator about a not up-to-date update list was missing. (the Update list was not updated. The Warning Symbol is only missing)

I had to realize that Ubuntu one has not any more the Download Limitation set.
I'm Lucky to say I could stop it before my Limit was reached but the next days until the end of month will be hard.
Please correct this bug as fast as possible. If I think about laptops in foreign country connected with a cell phone.
That could be really expensive.

thanks a lot

There are multiple ways you can accomplish what you want, in the current Ubuntu One client. You can remove your device in the devices tab, when you want to disconnect, and simply re-add it when you need to connect. Or you can place in your ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf file under the [__main__] section, "autoconnect = false" and ubuntuone-syncdaemon will not connect automatically on start-up. You can then connect/disconnect it from the control panel.

There's also the setting tab of the control panel, where you can deselect "Connect automatically when computer starts".

However, it sounds like there's a problem with the bandwidth.
Did you checked the bandwidth limit checkboxes?
If so, after the reboot were they still checked and with the 0 value?

Thanks for your report.

Thanks a lot for this hints.

the one with the don't start on start-up works for me. the ticks for the speed limitation do not save. maybe there should be a bug-fix for this.
For simple user like me there should be a hint while setting the speed to zero what this mean and that deactivating on start-up could be maybe better.

but in other hand i think it could be better every one set the speed to zero if he need no syncing. with that Ubuntu One could be active and Remember an User continuously about the blocked syncing. With out that maybe some oder people wonder why it not work or don't realize that their backup not works since deactivation who the user maybe had forgotten.
