package winbind 2:3.6.3-2ubuntu2.3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

It seems when I try to remove samba4, I get this:

No apport report written because the error message indicates its a followup error from a previous failure.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug in Ubuntu.

I think that you have hit a couple of problems here; lets just focus on winbind.

Please could you check in /var/log/samba for any log files relating to winbind and any error messages which would indicate the cause of the winbind daemon not starting.

Please attach to this bug report.

Found some errors in the samba log, some have to do with winbind:

[2012/07/14 21:08:26, 0] ../source4/smbd/service_task.c:35(task_server_terminate)
  task_server_terminate: [Cannot start Winbind (standalone configuration): Failed to find record for NICK-03 in /var/lib/samba/private/secrets.ldb: No such object: (null): Have you provisioned this server (NICK-03) or changed it's name?]

Nicholas, if you aren't using samba4, perhaps try purging it and all of its configuration. Make sure you backup all of your configuration files and then run.

sudo apt-get purge samba4 winbind

And then try to re-install wine and winbind.

I purged samba4 and winbind, then re-installed winbind. However, wine failed to start. I then purged and reinstalled wine without any errors. I believe the samba4 package may have somehow corrupted winbind upon its installation, so by the time I tried to install wine I got the error. Thanks for the help.
