Bug Description

Binary package hint: dia-gnome

package: dia-gnome
dia-gnome: 0.96.1-0ubuntu1
dia-common: 0.96.1-0ubuntu1

(from ubuntu 7.04 herd5)

Going to the Help menu and choosing Help doesn't do anything. Neither does pressing the shortcut Ctrl+H. There are no messages in .xsession-errors saying that yelp failed to launch or anything.

Manually running "yelp /usr/share/doc/dia-common/html/en/index.html" from the command line works.

I try to reproduce the problem but when I'm choosing "Help" (or pressing the shortcut CTRL+H) I receive this message (see also the screenshot attached):

Could not open help directory:
Error opening directory '/usr/share/dia/help': Nessun file o directory

So it seems to point to /usr/share/dia/ instead of /usr/share/doc/dia/

Mh, sorry. I'm referring to the "dia" package and not "dia-gnome".

With "dia-gnome" the Help section doesn't do anything. By the way, "dia" package seems broken too.

The only docs that I've found is here: /usr/share/doc/dia-common/html

/usr/share/doc/dia-common/html/en/.dhelp:

<directory>graphics
<linkname>Dia User's Manual
<filename>index.html

This User's Manual introduces Dia, an application for creating
technical diagrams.

Fix Released? as of today Dia / Dia-gnome does not launch the help pressing F1 or using the Help menu (DIA 0.97 on Karmic)

Edit: Dia launches its html help file (not in my default browser though...) Dia-Gnome does not do nothing.

Edit II: Well links to the images in the html files appears to be broken on my system... all I can see is "Alt" text for the images. it is not very useful.

HTML file corrected (.png extension added) attached in .tar format

"cd" to the en.tar file location
$ tar -xvf en
# chmod -R root:root en
# cp -rv en /usr/share/doc/dia-common/html/en

If there is something wrong with the command, please correct me. Hopefully, you will have access to the HTML help file with graphics, from the GUI.

PS: I use the Debian version, not the Dia-Gnome.

Note: Please rename the directory "html_corrected" in "en" after extraction, and before copying the directory to /usr\share/doc/dia-common/html/en. Sorry about it.
