Bug Description

The UEC documentation (https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/serverguide/uec.html) states:

Installing the Cloud/Cluster/Storage/Walrus Front End Server
1. Download the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Server ISO file, and burn it to a CD.

2. When you boot, select “Install Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud”. The installer will detect if any other Eucalyptus components are present.

However, at step 2, there is no option to install UEC.

But that section of the Server Guide also begins with the following:

"UEC (Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud) is now deprecated in favour of UC (Ubuntu Cloud). The former is based on Eucalyptus and the latter is based on Openstack. This section of the guide will be removed in future iterations."

This strongly suggests that UEC is no longer being worked on. Hence, the lack of UEC options in the installer.

Deprecated or not, the documentation is incorrect. The 12.04 install CD does not contain an option to install UEC. I am trying to install Eucalyptus, not OpenStack, and the docs provide incorrect information. This is NOT an invalid bug. The documentation is invalid if it claims that the 12.04 LTS install CDs have an option to install UEC. "Future versions" of the guide apparently mean THIS version of the guide -- hence the bug against the documentation (not the installer).

Please re-open this bug and fix the online documentation.
