Bug Description

k3b 1.0 from Feisty provided DVD ripping support, but cannot be provided by default as some stuff is in universe/multiverse. Can you provide k3b in medibuntu, which would additionally build depend on:
- libdvdread (DVD ripping)
- ffmpeg (decodes wma and others)
- lame (mp3 encoding)

See this build log for missing features:
http://librarian.launchpad.net/7091815/buildlog_ubuntu-feisty-i386.k3b_1.0-0ubuntu2_FULLYBUILT.txt.gz

Thanks.

K3B should builddep on libdvdread and ffmpeg
Binary package should also depend on transcode...

Readme of upstream website give all of the details.

I'll upload the package, thanks for the debdiff. ;)

I have a single question: why do you need to b-d on libdvdcss2-dev? the configure script doesn't seem to check for it, only for libdvdread-dev.

According to http://k3b.plainblack.com/videoencoding, k3b seems to need libdvdcss to rip a DVD.
So even if libdvdread-dev is not used himself, this should provide a version-checked dep on libdvdcss.

Thanks ;)

if it's a runtime dependancy (ie, k3b does not link against it but needs it at runtime), it should imho be a Depends rather than a b-d

Anthony has merged the source package from Ubuntu, I need to check whether dvd ripping works, and I'll upload it.

Built for i386 and amd64. The powerpc package is also ready, but the main server just went down, so I can't sync the repo. =]
