Gnome Strange Behaviors After GDM Theme Changed

Bug Description

- Login took a bit longer to complete
- Desktop items such as directories and files all disappeared
- System | Preferences or System | Administration led to sub-menu of items without mouse-over highlight and icons
- Launching System | Administration | Login Window brought up a blank window.
- Selecting System | Quit brought up the usual dialog box but without the option to reboot or shutdown the system.

All of above happened immediately after I installed and switched to any new GDM theme. Everything returned to normal as soon as I restarted GDM either by killing it as root or hitting Ctrl+Alt+BackSpace sequence.

Hi there
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with the development version of Ubuntu, Hardy Heron?

Thanks in advance.
