Bug Description

Binary package hint: scim-bridge

Found the following problem during a install test:

Unpacking replacement scim-anthy ...
Selecting previously deselected package scim-bridge-client-gtk.
Unpacking scim-bridge-client-gtk (from .../scim-bridge-client-gtk_0.4.10-0ubuntu1_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/scim-bridge-client-gtk_0.4.10-0ubuntu1_i386.deb (--unpack):
 trying to overwrite `/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/immodules/im-scim-bridge.so', which is also in package scim-bridge

Apparently scim-bridge-client-gtk is missing a Replaces: scim-bridge (<= version).

Subscribed Zhengpeng. I wonder why he isn't subscribed to scim-bridge's bugmail as he is the maintainer for both Debian and Ubuntu.

Will have a new upstream release soon.
And I'm sorry for that I haven't subscribed to this package in Ubuntu.

It seems to me that either gutsy and hardy have a fixed version.

It's true that this bug doesn't apply to gutsy or hardy, but strictly
speaking, it's not "fixed" ther per se, only that the file-overwriting
doesn't happen because the packages are updated.

Ubuntu Feisty Fawn is no longer supported, so a SRU will not be issued for this release. Marking Feisty as Won't Fix.
