Possible solution.

I deleted these files that firefox installs automatically via the extension popup dialog.
~/.mozilla/plugins
flashplayer.xpt libflashplayer.so

Then I installed via,
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

and the frequent crashing has not happened in firefox and epiphany while playing flash videos

I went into the synaptic package manager and removed totem and the games as plugins from firefox in Ubuntu 7.10 and firefox no longer crashes as much as it did before.

I use flash plugin and realplayer for firefox with little to no problems. I think some of the crashig may have something to do with the webpages..I do not know I am not a programmer.

Anyway, the crashing maybe from a plug in over load. How does one clear the cache? Or create a seperate partition exclusively for firefox.? Maybe the cache needs more megabytes.

Well, still having fun with Linux!
