I also experienced this problem. Apport reported the crash after a login, but I guess the crash had happened earlier. This is what happened:

* I watched a movie embedded in a webpage (I was browsing with konqueror)
* Some time later, X freezed completely
* I logged in through ssh and restarted kdm (/etc/init.d/kdm restart)
* I logged back in with kdm
* apport reported a crash of kxineplayer

There is probably a causal relationship between watching the movie and the kxineplayer crash. I am not sure whether this also caused the freeze of X, because there was quite some time in between (appr. 20 min).

For the record, the movie I was watching was the promo video for Joost. It started playing when I visited http://lewion.bravehost.com/JoostTV.html and also when I visited the "What's Joost?" page at http://www.joost.com/.

Kubuntu 7.04has reached the end of its supported life. Since there have not been any reports of this crash happening for a very long time (It's been two years since the last report) I am closing this bug as fixed because it is most likely not an issue in newer versions of Kubuntu.

If this is still happening in a more recent, supported version of Kubuntu, please reopen this bug and provide a log of the crash provided by the KDE crash handler.
