1) Xubuntu 12.10 i386 daily build 9-5-2012
2) parole 0.3.0.3
3) I expected normal gui interface with Parole with musical notes
4) I got a color bar which displayed in the attached screenshot.

This is invalid, since the starting artwork was changed. The sreenshot shows the expected artwork.

Xubuntu 12.10 seems to be changing a good bit since xubuntu 12.04 it would
help if those in QA were given some kind of warning.

What you see is the expected artwork (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Test_card it looks like that to me). And I remember that at least one other tester experienced this and asked on the irc channel whether it was the expected artwork, and was confirmed that.

(I guess people are so used to graphical corruptions on ubuntu that they don't think it can be done on purpose :P)
