Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

this bug happened to me after trying to install a gnome theme (packed as .deb package). System stalled for several minutes. After rebooting several applications reported a fault. (gnome-screensaver, gnome-panel...)

ay i tried to reproduce the "bug" by reinstalling the mentioned gnome theme .deb package. The Reinstallation went well this time with no system halt or other problems. The theme works so far with no visible graphic bugs or else.

I did a memory check (3 passes) with the built-in memory checkup tool (available on the GRUB menu) with no errors.

You asked me obtain the backtrace package so i tried to install the yelp-dbgsys as it is described on the backtrace wikipage from ubuntu wiki but i couldnt install the package (synaptic notifies me that it cannot resolve the dependencies)

Error message of Synaptic:
"yelp (=2.18.1-0ubuntu1)«, aber es wird »2.18.0-0ubuntu4« installiert. "

So sadly i cannot do a backtrace at the moment, but i will investigate this problem further if that bug happens again.

Thanks for your help

Regards.

Oliver aka chesmond.
