I was about to report a similar issue. My issue was with HDDs >2TB in size with GPT partition table with Software RAID1.

I reported the issue along with a solution here: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2391370

This problem also exists in the CentOS 7 installer.

You are booting in bios mode, but using a GPT partitioned disk. This requires you to create a 1 mb bios_grub partition on the disk.
