Can't bookmark in Firefox, won't let you add

Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

If I try to add a bookmark to Firefox it won't let me. I can click on add all I want and it still won't let me. If I change to a differet folder it will but then it erases what bookmark name is and leaves a blank bookmark. The blank bookmark will take you to the website that was bookmarked. I am currenlty using firefox 2.0.0.3+1-0ubunutu2 and Feisty.

Can you please list all your extensions/addons/themes and please run firefox in safe mode by using "firefox -safe-mode" and see if you can than reproduce this issue.

i did try running it in safe mode and it still did the same thing

I am still unable to reproduce this. Can you please please disable all extenstions and restart firefox than see if you can reproduce this. although truthfully -safe-mode should have done that for us.

That's odd I'm having the same problem myself, even with all extensions & themes disabled.
Only I can't reproduce the problem in safe-mode.

Again;
- must switch to another folder before bookmark will save
- bookmark is saved with a blank name, and is not deletable in 'Organize Bookmarks' view (though it is in the side bar and from the bookmarks menu)
- Dialog box remains even after a bookmark is created, must choose cancel for it to leave (clicking 'ok' again will create duplicate bookmarks -also with blank names- )

Using: Firefox 2.0.0.3 / XP SP2 (home)

I've restarted both multiple times with no effect.

I'm having the same problem on Vista. I ran CCleaner (a kind of registry, temp files, etc cleaner) and I accidentally included firefox in the things to clean. It wasn't until after that cleaning that I noticed the bookmarks stopped working.

This whole bug is most likely a profile issue. This can happen by
bogus extensions or crashes. In any case this is not going to be
tackled in firefox 2 anymore
