Bug Description
Hi
I'm an absolute beginner to Ubuntu but wanted to give it a try after being disappointed with windows vista. I installed ubuntu on my laptop using the live cd.The installation worked I rebooted my machine.
When it boots back up again it show the ubuntu logo, the loading bar completes I hear the login sound but have a blank screen. Typing ctr-alt-f(1-6) doesn't open a console either. Whats gives?
I've set the driver in xorg.conf to "nvidia". I tried using "vesa" but this results in a blank screen without the login sound. Does anyone know what the problem is?
My laptop is HP dv6000.
AMD Turion 64 x2
Nvidia graphics card
