Bug Description
Maybe it would make sense to introduce a -common package, where all the images and javascript links go. It'd help us avoid lots of symlinks in all kinds of packages, especially as we introduce more language-based packages this should help us keeping the complexity down.

Daniel, which way do you prefer:
(1) stick with linking individual files;
(2) link _static and _images as directories and add a hack for dpkg; or
(3) link _static as a directory and link sime individual files from _images (this will allow us to make SVGs translatable in the future)?
