network boot refuses to load preseed

Bug Description

After downloading the 7.04 alternative iso, I mounted the same to an http system, then
configured the tftp server.

A new machine hooked to the network was initialized to boot using the pxe, which promptly
downloaded the initird (AFAIK), and the splash screen was shown.

I did follow partially http://halisway.blogspot.com/2006/06/ubuntu-dapper-pxe-network-install.html
while configuring the tftp server and the dhcp server. And had successfully completed a non automated
install over the pxe boot and http repository. But as soon as the preseed was inserted, the system
started behaving bad. Said that the preseed file could not be downloaded. I did try using wget on a
virtual console on the same new machine, after the error was seen, and could get the file with the
same url. Later I tried with that setup with a 6.10 alternative iso, but failed halfway through, with
reports of missing files. But both are fine if the installation is manual.
