Bug Description

Nautilus crashes every time I log in, and after filing a bug report to gnome via Bug Buddy, it restarts and crashes again, resulting in an infinite loop. The gnome people told me it was a problem with swfdec, so I'm posting it here. For more information, see this: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430110

I believe I'm in the same boat. In my case, Epiphany crashes very often on sites using flash.

I'm using Ubuntu 7.04 64 bit and compiled swfdec 0.4.4.

At this point, I don't find watching those flash files useful if it causes my browser to crash. The problem does not occur everytime but in the cases where they do, it's most often a site with flash running in them.

I, personaly, don't see how these 2 bugs are related.
Only thing in common is the use of 'swfdec_bits_get_u16' method.

First/Main report is about nautilus crashing constantly. Is there a .swf file on his Desktop ?
If yes, please provide it (could be the video subnailer which crashes everything)

Changing status to need-info

Erwin, could you please retest with 0.4.5 (release from yesterday) ?!

First bug is probably triggered by a .swf flash on user's desktop
We can't do anything without this file

Second commentary is completly different

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Just a note to try swfdec 0.6 or 0.7; both are in 8.10 beta (universe).
