Bug Description

Binary package hint: debian-installer

I'm doing an expert mode installation test using feisty i386 d-i rc cd 20070415. I made the mistake of selecting the installer component for "loading installer components for an ISO image" (IIRC).

Now at each step through the extended expert mode d-i menu, it searches about fruitlessly for a suitable iso image, asks whether I would like to do a complete search of all media (which I wouldn't) and then complains that an installer component has failed with an error.

There is no reason to think that this bug is not also present in current Ubuntu releases. I don't have the facilities for reproducing it here right now (I'm at Debconf) but the information I provided should be sufficient to either reproduce (and hence confirm) the bug, or to demonstrate that it has been fixed.

I have checked and haven't seen this in Jaunty - haven't tried Karmic, so marking this Invalid. If you happen to experience this again for whatever reason, you can change the status back to New and we can carry out further testing. Thank you.
