It looks like I experienced this bug as well when I set up rdiff-backup to run automatically with Kcron.

The job runs automatically scheduled using keep.

The question is, why is there a Broken Pipe error? As an rdiff-backup developer, I am suspicious that files are being deleted by another cron script at the same time (perhaps cleaning the /tmp dir?) and that is breaking rdiff-backup.

The logging for this bug was improved in upstream CVS on July 10, 2007. The improvement will be included in rdiff-backup 1.1.12 and subsequent releases.
