Bug Description
Binary package hint: xmms-jack
I use XMMS basically to stream music to a jack server. Having not done this for a while I recognised (after several updates from ubuntu 6.10 to ubuntu 7.04, 2.6.20-15-realtime) that xmms starts with error messages during the jack_init process. In detail, xmms is not able to open 'libxmms.so'. And that's right, there is not libxmms.so but libxmms.so.1 (ubuntu u7.04 (/usr/lib/) ).
*******
$ xmms
Message: device: default
jack_init:
jack_init:unable to dlopen 'libxmms.so'
*******
To link libxmms.so.1 to libxmms.so was no solution.
Hope this is a bug and not just a user problem.
thx.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately xmms was removed since Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron" because it was unmaintained. xmms-jack was removed too. So we will not fix your bug. You can use audacious instead. It is an fork of xmms and is actively developed.
