Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.20-15-generic

I'm using a sony VAIO VGN-FS315H laptop with Ubuntu feisty.

With the default config, my laptop is very very slow, and my CPU is always 100% used.

If I load the processor kernel module with option max_cstate=1, my laptop is faster and my CPU dynamics ajust its frequency.
But with this option my battery has a very low life, and I can stay disconnect from sector only for 30 minutes.

I had this problem since Ubuntu Edgy. I'm using a generic kernel image.

Thanks.

The output of ps is the same with ou whithout max_cstate option.

For example the boot process is 3 ou 4 times slower without max_cstate.
