Thank you for your bug. Does it happen when browsing the trash with nautilus or with the gnome-panel icon?

I installed feisty a few weeks ago. I've been moving things to the trash periodically, and have not yet emptied the trash.

I just noticed that the trash can icon on the top panel is showing an empty can, wheras usually it shows it full up. Wondering how that happened, I hovered the mouse over it. A tooltip appeared saying "No items in trash". Weird. I'm sure I haven't emptied it.

I clicked on the icon to check whether it was really empty, but it wasn't. It had 96 items in it.

I took a screenshot - see the attachment.

I am using Compiz (Desktop Effects) and the Xgl server (since Desktop Effects wouldn't work without Xgl - I'm using the fglrx video drivers).

I expect logging out and in again will fix the problem, but I'll hold off on doing that in case someone gets back to me with a request for more information while it's in this state.

Is there some way to change the status from 'rejected'? This is a real bug - it shouldn't be rejected. Or should I raise a dup instead?

I don't know if this helps or not, but adding a bunch more trashcans to the panel shows them all as being empty.
