Bug Description

In kubuntu 7.04

There is no default screen saver set, is this not a problem or does the screen sleep?

I think there should be a default screen saver - would be nice if it said Kubuntu on the screensaver or even if it was a random one! :)

I can confirm that this behaviour is true but it seems likely that this is intentional and not really a bug. Divan if you think this should be changed then it's probably better if you make this suggestion on one of the kubuntu mailing lists and it can be discussed there. You can find the lists here https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/

I'm going to set the status to needs info for now. If you discover that this behaviour is intentional then this bug can rejected.

Was about to put a bug after my wife opened the lid and found some uncomfortable websites :) Found this one so here you go --

Hardy Heron 8.04.1 -- KDE 3.5.x
"Considering the kubuntu distro is very stable, I seldom shutdown and just close the lid of the laptop. But that poses a security risk (or embarrassing moments) since anyone can open the lid of the laptop and view my open applications or start working with my login.
The kdm should have a screensaver and the desktop lock time "automatically" set at first install (or first user) so as to avoid these kind of risks. Maybe the time could be 5 minutes and any screensaver with KDE or something to tell new users that the machine is running and has not been shutdown."
