Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

When visiting this webpage [ http://www.redbox.be/get_rich_or_die_tryin ] the load of the Xorg process increases significantly from about 3-4% to about 70%, which causes the system to become slow. I think it's because of the javascript but i'm not sure.

I can't reproduce it with radeon. Could you try with 'nv' if it does the same?

It does the same with the 'nv' driver, although the percentage of Xorg is a little bit lower and the load of Firefox is a bit higher. However the system does get slow here too. On my laptop with an ATi card using the 'ati' driver I cannot reproduce it either, there Xorg's load stays at +/- 20% with the system having it's normal full speed feeling.

It's been almost three months, and I don't see this symptom on my laptop. Can you reaffirm anything here? Does it still occur for you?

Since the above webpage has changed since the first report, I tested again with this page which has a similar/the same javascript photoslider: http://nl.netlog.com/Spacegirltje

The load of Xorg raises to ca. 30 % and the system has full speed feeling, so I think this is normal. On my laptop using fglrx driver Xorg's load is about 20% on the same page so I guess these are normal values.

Closing the bug because I cannot reproduce it anymore. A package update may have solved the problem.
