Hello Philip, or anyone else affected,

Accepted into quantal-proposed. The package will build now and be available in a few hours in the -proposed repository.

https://projects.kde.org/projects/kde/kde-workspace/repository/revisions/285553edce61f65a88d9067136bf138e44efb149/diff caused a regression and will have to be reverted. It appears to be the source of occasional brightness flickering that some people have reported. These packages should not be released until it's reverted.
