Bug Description

Binary package hint: wifi-radar

Under Feisty (clean install) wifi-radar doesn't detect the connected IP address of my linksys wmp54g (ralink2500) card. It does list the available SSIDs, but puts as connected ip address a weird one, which in fact belongs to the eth:avahi (whatever avahi is), as seen below:

eth0:avah Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:0C:6E:A3:32:12
          inet addr:169.254.5.36 Bcast:169.254.255.255 Mask:255.255.0.0
          UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          Interrupt:21

Also, the application behaves extremely slow. After clicking an SSID, the highlight takes about 4 seconds until it moves to the new selection. The buttons are totally non-functional. (No way to disconnect / edit / create new etc)

I downloaded the latest wifi-radar 1.9.8, and the IP address problem got fixed, and the buttons now work. However, the slowness problem (4 seconds to respond) of the UI is still present.

Thanks

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta?
